Terms of use
The rules for using this site, written so you can actually read them.
Last changed on 23 September 2026.
The short version
- Add what you like. What you add stays yours, and you can email us for a copy of all of it whenever you want.
- The hours are good estimates, not measurements. Change any number to what you actually spent.
- Everything is free except the AI tagging and the written read of your library, which cost CA$7 a month. You can cancel from your account page at any time.
- Use the site for what it is for. Breaking into other people's accounts or hammering it with scripts gets the account closed.
Who this is between
This is an agreement between you and Hours of Your Life, the site you are reading. Using the site means you accept what is on this page. If you do not, do not use it.
Your account
- You need a working email address, because that is how you sign in and how we reach you.
- One account per person. Do not share a sign-in link or a password with anyone.
- Anything done from your account counts as done by you, so tell us at once if someone else gets into it.
- You have to be at least 13 years old to have an account.
What you add stays yours
Your list is yours. We do not claim to own it and we do not publish it. What you give us is permission to store it, show it back to you, and run the features you switch on over it. That permission ends when you delete the entry or the account.
The numbers are estimates
Runtimes and episode counts come from TMDB, page counts from Open Library, and typical play times from RAWG. All three are maintained by the public and are sometimes wrong. Reading time is worked out from the page count at an average reading speed, which will not be your speed.
Every number can be changed to what you actually spent, and that is what it is there for. Treat the totals as a good guess about your life, not a measurement of it.
What is free and what is paid for
- Free, and staying free
- Adding films, TV, books and games. Your totals and your stats. Reading every profile that has already been written for you.
- The paid plan
- CA$7 a month, billed by Stripe, renewing every month until you cancel. It covers tagging your titles with what they are about, and the written read of your taste. Those are the only two things in the app that cost money every time they run.
- Limits on the AI features
- Each account can only use the AI features up to a set amount per day and per month. The limit is well above what anyone uses by hand. It is there to stop someone running up a bill with a script. If you reach it, the page tells you when you can use them again.
- Cancelling
- Press Change your card or cancel on your account page. You keep the paid features until the end of the month you have already paid for, and nothing you have added is taken away afterwards.
Refunds
Part-months already used are not refunded. If something went wrong, email hoyl@manymin.app and it will be sorted out. Where the consumer law of the place you live gives you a right to a refund, this page does not take it away.
If the price changes
You will get an email at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, so you can cancel first if you would rather not pay it.
What the AI features are, and are not
The read of your library is a language model's guess, made from the titles you added and nothing else. It will sometimes be wrong about your age, where you are from, and what you are like. It is written to be read for fun, and it is not advice about anything.
You choose the voice it is written in. If you pick the funny one, it is meant to tease you, and you can write it again in the fair voice whenever you want.
What you may not do
- Try to reach another person's list, or any part of the site you are not signed in for.
- Run scripts or scrapers against the site, or make automated requests at a rate a person could not.
- Copy the catalogue data out of the site to build or feed another product.
- Add anything unlawful, or use the site to harass anybody.
An account that does any of these can be closed. If yours is closed for that reason, you can still email hoyl@manymin.app and ask for a copy of your list.
The site can change, and could stop
Features are added, changed and sometimes removed. If the site is ever shut down for good, you will get at least 30 days' notice by email so you can ask for a copy of your list before it goes.
What we are not responsible for
The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it is always up, that the catalogue data is correct, or that a total is accurate to the minute. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for anything you lose by relying on it, and if we are ever found liable, it is limited to what you have paid us in the past twelve months.
Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, because no agreement is allowed to.
Where the catalogue data comes from
- This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- Book details come from Open Library, run by the Internet Archive.
- Game details come from RAWG.
Which law applies
These terms are read under the law of Ontario and the federal law of Canada that applies there, and an argument about them is settled in the courts of Ontario. If you are a consumer somewhere else, this does not take away the protections the law where you live gives you.
When this page changes
The date at the top changes with it. If a change affects what you pay or what you are allowed to do, you will get an email before it takes effect.
Getting in touch
Email hoyl@manymin.app and a person will answer.
